Essential Functions (Duties & Responsibilities)

  • Responds to customer inquiries and incoming leads relating to use, operation, and maintenance of Company products.
  • Make appropriate product recommendations for new applications, issuing quotations, and gaining commitments from the customer.
  • Work closely with the sales team to ensure seamless transfer of identified business growth opportunities.
  • Evaluate customer technical and commercial challenges by reviewing drawings, plans, and documentation, and deliver tailored solutions through cost estimates and project improvement recommendations.
  • Leverage technical knowledge to identify and qualify new opportunities by uncovering customer needs, building credibility as a subject matter expert, presenting optimized solutions, and securing customer commitments.
  • Build and maintain effective communication with customer contacts across technical, purchasing, service, quality, and management functions.
  • Communicate requirements to internal key stakeholders (Production, Product Engineering, Customer Service, Marketing, Quality, etc.) to establish clear expectations for success.
  • Leverage CRM and other tools to report on sales activity aiding in market analysis, new product development, and pricing strategies, as well as to build a database of customer and application history
  • Represent Company at trade shows and conferences (overnight travel required)
  • Travel up to 10%, including both domestic and international travel

Skills and Experience

  • 0-2+ years of experience in performing the duties and responsibilities outlined for this role
  • Strong mechanical aptitude required, engineering coursework or degree a plus
  • Previous technical inside sales and/or technical customer service experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with industrial manufacturing environments, particularly involving electro-mechanical devices, fluidics, vacuum/pressure equipment, and/or small motors.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency required
  • SAP and CRM experience preferred
  • Must have a valid driver's license as travel to customer locations may be necessary
