We are looking for a Laboratory Channel Manager to join our Laboratory Sales Team in Trenton (Hamilton), NJ. The Laboratory Channel Manager position is a key member of the Sales and Marketing team working closely with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and the Company’s international locations to achieve the strategic product and market penetration goals of the Company and Group. As a Channel Manager, you will be the Laboratory Products Division’s liaison to our Laboratory distribution partners.
Essential Functions (Duties & Responsibilities)
- Develop strategies to set and achieve channel partner goals
- Ensure channel partners have complete and up to date information, including sales literature, price lists, product information, and images
- Manage channel partner training program including the creation of training materials as well as the development and implementation of training plan
- Manage annual channel partner pricing updates
- Establish manager-level relationships with key channel partners
- Utilize existing industry/market knowledge to fully develop the business at assigned distributors within assigned geographies
- Conducting regular meetings and co-travel with assigned distributors and field salespeople in support of their KNF sales activities
- Attend trade shows and channel partner national and regional sales meetings
- Obtain and disseminate distributor sales team rosters
- Proactively assess, clarify and validate channel partner needs on an ongoing basis.
- Manage potential channel conflict by fostering excellent communication internally and externally, and through adherence to channel rules of engagement
- Proactively recruit new qualifying channel partners
- 30-40% North American (USA and Canada) travel possible
Skills and Experience
- BA in Business, Marketing, Chemistry or related scientific field
- 5+ years proven channel sales success in a business-to-business environment. Background in scientific sales required
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate channel partners to select products as the preferred principal brand
- Strong understanding of customer and laboratory market dynamics
- Microsoft Office proficiency required
- SAP and CRM experience preferred
- Proven customer relationship management skills required
- Must be able to effectively present information to management, channel partners, and end-customers
- Must be organized, process oriented, collaborative, internally motivated, action oriented, and results driven
- Must have a valid driver’s license, as travel to customer locations will be necessary
